In addition, a permanent survey through the website www.tourismstat.com also serves as a research tool. This Internet survey is aimed at the English, German and Dutch tourist. The response to this website is extremely high and therefore gives very detailed information about the needs and wants of the tourists that use the Internet.

The information has been acquired by an A-select distribution of questionnaires among Internet-users in the Netherlands. The distribution took place through our website www.tourismstat.com and responses have been gathered since the 1st quarter of the year 2000. The questionnaire has a permanent place on our website and responses will be analysed at the end of every quarter.

The statistical tourism information provides answers to more than 150 questions concerning the preferences and choices of the tourist, for instance:
  • How does the tourist get the idea to go on holiday to a certain country?
  • Where does the tourist get his/her information?
